Similar site to DealExtreme?

I was wondering is there any other sites similar sites to DealExtreme? I heard someone saying there was another site like it from the UK, and it was equally as cheap, however he didn't say what it was called.
If anyone knows it, or a similar site, it would be interesting to look at.
    Thanks

This site is almost identical to dealextreme.... Focal Price

Never used it before but it looks pretty good.

Not sure about the one in the uk though!

Anoter one is kaidomain.com (I think), but from what I've heard DealExtreme is the most reputable, and is the only one I use personally.

I've used both DX and kaidomain on numerous occasions without any complaints.

DX tends to have faster shipping whilst kaidomain has more 'exotic' items.

Do all the above mentioned sites ship to Ireland:

    Dealextreme

    Kaidomain

    Focal Price

Deal Extreme do ship to Ireland, though it takes ages to arrive - on the upside, free P+P from Hong Kong!

Dealextreme ship to Ireland for free as mentioned and yes the free shipping is slow. (3-4 weeks)

If you need the item quickly upgrade to EMS and you should have the item in about a week.

Can you shed some light onto the ease, security and quality of DealExteme?

What did you buy? Is it worth, and reputable as a company, to buy from?

My dealextreme package came today. I got a shipping notice on 21/10 and the package itself has 20/10 on it, so 8-9 working days, pretty good.

Very easy to order from, payment by paypal so that is fine. I got a kingston 8gbmicrosd card and it looks genuine to me, has holograms and unusual plastic packaging, got a DSTT card for a nintentdo DS, comments on the site said they are genuine, and it has links to the site who tell you how to spot fakes.

    I would recommend them.

    Oh very interesting!

Sorry if I seemed like a worrier, it's just you hear so many dodgy stories about these "Chinese" internet websites!

    Very strange.
I got an 8 GB Pro Duo card off them and know of 2 other people who got the same and all of them were FAKE.

I've had problems with DealExtreme's sister site VolumeRate, which took two months to sort out.

I have never had any problems with DX though, touch wood.

Most of the chinese sites IMO sell some fake memory cards. You will notice some of the Kingston cards say Genuine or Genuine Japan but in my exprience they are all dodgy so buyer beware.

I have a genuine non-oriental Kinsgton microSD card with holograms; and an SD adapter that actually fits my card reader. None of the 10+ cards I got from VR have an adapter that doesn't need a pliers to extract once in the reader. I have also come across 1 or 2 dud cards.

Some of the supposed genuine Kingston cards have stickers, not holograms, on the back and come in cheap cardboard slips.

The back of my box has a serial number and this site is on the label too.
    http://www.kingston.com/china/verifyflash2/

I entered my details and got a confirmation email that it is genuine.

I had read of fakes on DX before, and think they have cracked down on them. there is a forum on DX and one of the DX team was mentioning getting from a different source.

This UK site has them cheaper than DX now anyway!

The great thing about DX is the reviews and topics for each item at the bottom of the page.
None of the clone sites seem to have this, even sites like amazon dont have posts where people can ask questions about the item.

Great information is to be had by just looking at them.

Ive seen a big debate about wether a sandisk card was genuine or counterfeit, and in fairness the mods were doing their best to reach a conclusion.

Apparently some of the genuine ones get packed sometimes in the wrong packaging, its something thats common in china.

Possibly because they get OEM cards cheaper and just throw them into whatever packaging thats close to the original, thats my guess anyway.

    - By Fake i presume you mean its not a genuine sony therefore not magic gate supported. But it doesn't claim anywhere on there ad that it is . Unless its rated capacity doesn't match its actually capacity you really don't have anything to complain about.

Most Memory cards on DX are probably fakes, but at least they are good fakes.

I've used DX a lot since i first heard about them. I've only once had a problem with them (where something took a few months to get to me, but it did get to me in the end). They have improved there delivery time lately. As long as the item is in stock you should get it in about 2 weeks.

I've also used focal price a couple of times. They also seem pretty good. I had one minor problem with one of my orders where I ordered 3 of something and only one came. I emailed them telling them this, they responded within 24hours and within 2 weeks 3 more arrived (brining the total i received to 4). Even though there was a problem that experience has made me more confident in dealing with them, there customer service was excellent for me anyways. Also they ship from "Counnacht Place" in HK so they've a bit of Irish in them :)

That's a big problem I bought a few R4 cards from them and the various adapters were unusable I actually ended up damaging one memory card trying to get the feckin thing out.

Would you not expect when you buy from any website like that, that you would get something that is legit?

Not when it doesnt say SONY in the product title, nor the pictures of the card itself, no.

Here's some more sites you can try out. I normally buy gadgets from Dealextreme and haven't bought anything from these websites. It's best to just spend a couple of Euros first in case stuff goes AWOL.
