Well we're all apparently gaming the system ourselves.

Yeah what are these grants etc that we're supposed to be getting ?

I've had a PRSI paid eye test a couple of times - total of less that 100 euro in last decade. Is that it ???

Disgusting that papers do not ask these simple questions before diving headlong into a story like this

Apparently there's one father who according to her "is not relevant".

He's in jail for beating the ****e out of an old lady. And going equipped with a "sharpened tent peg".

Must have been out of slash hooks.

So folks, what's the plan to effect change?

I've two ideas, one extreme, one mold:

Everyone stay in bed on Monday morning, grind the country to a halt. To hell with protesting of a rainy Saturday or Sunday. Best way is stay at home.

Second option is to completely stop buying any non essentials so as to cut down on VAT income.

Option three which will do nothing is speak/write to your TD.

Now if social welfare is removed there will be a social backlash, crime will go through the roof. Basically we pay the benefits to keep these bottom of the barrel humans where they are and not in our homes. (I know there is crime here but nothing like countries with no welfare system)

First they came for the socialists...

I don't think we can do anything about the current crop - there is no political will to protect the workers sadly.

I've suggested that we cut our losses and make plans now for a welfare limit; kids allowance capped at 2 kids, benefits capped at a yearly rate etc.

We do this with plenty of notice - you have kids after that, your problem.

Anyone requiring a house who does not work and therefore has no need to live near a job - you go where there is a property; beggars can't - and shouldn't - be choosers.

For too long we've bought the media spin and the bull**** and let these scroungers get away with it - a line has to be drawn.

And as they have let some right scrotes out in the past I think that is a dead giveaway how low he really is.

Posted a pic on Facebook of her daughter at hospital saying that it looked like they would be spending the night there.

Couple of hours later posted pic of her sons (no daughter) at the Garda station saying they were spending the night there.

Messages on Facebook from an uncle and a cousin saying they were praying for her. No offer of a bed for the night from what I can recall.

The following day on a radio interview asked about father/fathers. She categorically stated there was only one father. Asked where he was and she said it was a private matter.

Apparently she's been married since she was 15 - I think that kinda gives the background and reason for entitled attitude away eh ?

How did she get on last night? For society's sake hopefully another sex free night

There should not be an option where "lone parents" allowance is paid.
You either agree to coparent with the father or you dont. Simples.

PS: I was having an interesting debate with 'her indoors' last night about this. Is there a breakdown anywhere to support the 50k+ that Cash was receiving in SW payments?

Any idea how old he is? He looks a bit older than her to say the least.

I think there's an embedded link somewhere in this thread ELM.

    It's chilling!

In relation to the housing crisis? You have plenty of options available to you. It's in the news daily, just like the health crisis. It can all be linked back to the inaction of the government.

If it's a plan to target people less well-off than you, forget it. Nobody is paying attention to you. Just remember, there are people out there who earn considerably more than you, that pay considerably more tax than you, that also view you people as parasites and scum, the same way you view people who earn less and pay less tax than you do. You're nothing special, there's no amount of tantrum throwing online that will change that.

Just the rent and the child benefit is near enough what I take home each month.

And have to pay everything out of that.

And get thought of as worse than these people for working.

I so love my country but sometimes, Jesus - what a place.

€49k NET, not gross - important distinction as what she takes is not taxed.

I'd probably come home with similar as NET, maybe 1-2k less, but it depends on me hitting all my bonuses and targets.
And working 50-70 hours + per week at ends of quarters.

Her rent allowance could pay off my 250k Dublin mortgage every month that I've spent years saving for to put myself into huge debt paying it off for another 25 years.

Just insane really. Incredible that this country can let these people scrounge so much money off them and therefore us as taxpayers too when our health system is in the ****ter and our infrastructure is so poor.

Yeah but as has been mentioned on here your mortgage is a "benefit".

Bet you it doesn't feel like that each month eh ? Some people have no idea.

So how long do ye think a person should have to wait on the housing list?

They should be on it until they turn down a property. After that they are on their own.

Is there also an issue here of Traveller culture of getting married young and also being religious and not using contraception? A bit of education in that area would go a long way.

Because she probably believes she's "entitled" to one of those.

Someone asked earlier about fixing the crisis. Heres how to do it for social housing.

Dublin city council and others buy land in major towns along the M7/M8/mainline Portarlington, Portlaoise, Thurles, Templemore etc and build single storey bungalows/semi detached housing. Then offer an incentive of a lump tax free cash sum of €10k to anybody who wants to relocate out of Dublin. Accepting this money bars them from re-applying for transfers for 10 years. Guarantee school places and public transport. Target those who have very little chance of gaining employment and the retired.

Collection of rents and repairs tendered/outsourced to local tradespeople and county councils.

How much is she raking in for free from the taxpayer a month?

    Can she not afford rent?

Has she no halting site to go to?

I thought traveller families were the salt of the Earth and family comes first?

Where is her support from the traveller representatives?
