Plenty of games offer performance (60fps) or 4K options on Xbox1X

Am I to expect my base level PS4's fan to be going at overdrive for the full time I'm playing this game?

They're not open world games though. You can achieve 60fps in more linear games because there's not much going on.

Not huge open world games the size of this and it is running at native 4K.

Witcher3? But you're right, not as much going on and graphics not as good. Still think they could have had it as an option though even if it meant a bigger hit to graphics.

If I buy off Cdkeys, it tells me the region is US/Canada? If I buy off the normal psn store will it start to download tonight?

  • Registered Users Posts: 28,118 ✭✭✭✭drunkmonkey

If you buy it from CD keys can you start the download once you get the key? (xbox one)

Any point paying extra for the special or ultimate edition...?

You can start the download immediately when you buy it if the ps store and your can play midnight irish time.

If you buy the key and it's a us region code you'll need a us region account and you won't be able to play until midnight US time.

He means that other games provide the option to choose performance (60fps and less than 4k graphics) or visual (4k and 30fps).

1080p 60FPS really should be an option.

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,394 ✭✭✭Pac1Man

60fps is not possible! It's not just a matter of pressing a few buttons. They are limited by the poor performance of the CPU.

Look at God of War. That's a linear game with some explorable areas but it's not an open world. That has a performance mode but it can't hit a consistent 60fps. Imagine trying to squeeze that mode into this game? You would probably hit mid 40s at best but there would be large fluctuations in frame rate in the more congested sections and in areas with a lot of action.

A consistent 30fps is a lot better than a fluctuating 45 with the stutter and screen tearing that would naturally bring.

Only in the last hour received shipping confirmation from Gamestop. Stupidly didn't choose express delivery. Customer service guy told me earlier this week that he thinks all RDR2 orders were being sent express anyway. Getting delivered to Dublin. Should I be worried?

Not a single Supervalu near me is getting the game in.

It's like asking how long is a piece of string, I know, but does anyone typically know how many copies of games that super valu get in? I won't make it to a super valu until about 9am tomorrow. I'm debating with myself whether or not just to buy it through the xbox store now incase it's gone tomorrow.

Wasn't the Black Ops 4 thing a big fiasCo with them? I might just go to Smyths and hope they've some spare copies.

Hard to tell... This store says "limited copies" for example, so I wouldn't expect them to have more than a good dozen maybe?

Halfway through a replay of The Witcher 3 at the moment and I'm not sure whether to play it like crazy for the next few days and finish it, or abandon it for this!!!

I'm in that exact same position. Tbh I'm going to finish TW3. It's my first replay of the game and I'm loving it.

Just going to let my hype of RDR2 build for another few weeks.

You know best yourself since it’s a replay as you said, but Witcher 3 burnout is a very real thing for a lot of people (myself included) at a certain point, so it’d be no harm taking a step back for a while to enjoy Red Dead :). Just try to do it
just before you move onto a new region like Skellige or wherever you are in the story, if you haven’t gone further
would be my advice, and just tie up any loose ends.

On a different note, just over 6 hours to go! :D

Anyone read any of the reviews that are popping up now or should we avoid for spoilerification.

Avoid Polygon like the plague, no story spoiler as such but they ruined one surprise

Probably missed it, but is there any mention of duels in this like the last RDR? Can’t imagine they wouldn’t be in there in some form.

Easy Allies one didn't ruin anything for me. Seeing gameplay heightened my hype if anything.
