The pitches are cutting up badly.

Scotland getting away with a lot now. Never a yellow, in at the sides, trip, tackle in the air, holding back at the ruck.p

they’ll have to drop Laidlaw for the next game, he’s made Russell’s game so much harder.

He deliberately killed any chance for Scotland to get the ball out quickly while they had us on the ropes. Well deserved for the cynicism. The fact that it’s not consistently applied is a problem but you can’t argue with the merit if the decision.

He was the second man and on his feet pulling on the ball for a fair while.

Another harsh pen against us, timing looked grand.

You must not be watching the game so, because he’s made more tackles than anyone else in the Ireland team.

    Than VDF?

For a supposedly world class player, Finn Russell is invisible far too often.

Yep. VDF hasn’t even hit double digits.

    Conan, then Ryan.

You have to admire Hogg. Never gives up.

He's like Parisse with Italy in a way. Deserves much better for his performances

He was but when he went off his feet he certainly was not letting go. That’s what he got the yellow fi.

Barnes doing his best to gift Scotland a score now.

That was a perfectly timed tackle.
Scotland allowed make camp at the Irish end of a maul.

    Cop on Barnes

What's the verdict here? Are Ireland really good? Are Scotland really bad? A bit of both?

    Shutout would be hugely satisfying.

Did Donal just say "Galway" instead of Scotland before correcting himself

He was a big Connacht fan when Parks was there!

I think it says it all that we got to near midnight the evening before the game and there has been no match thread.

We are going to do a number on Scotland tomorrow. The main story on Monday isn't going to be the scale of Ireland's victory - it will be that Japan have a serious chance of making the play offs - such will be our dismissal of Scotland.

Out of the doldrums folks, it's finally time for Joe to put on that Show.

    Nostradamus-like stuff here

How long does he need to be on ball before he wins a penalty? It was unquestionably harsh.

Defence has been unreal all day.

He will skip the next three exhibition games I presume

After what happened in the 2007 tournament, I don't think any Irish team would be so arrogant as to consider a WC match as an exhibition game.

See the look on Ryan Wilson's face?

    Take that you gobby twat.

Well, usually when we dominate and win it’s because the opposition are crap....

    Not my view, mind you!

Chris Farrell now in the scrum. What a guy!

Let's not forget how utterly dire Scotland have been.

Japan fixed the fixtures the wrong way - they should have had themselves playing Scotland next.

Farrel is too big to be a flanker haha

Both. Ireland pack immense but more to come from the half backs and wingers. Scotland just too powder puff up front

There’s something very funny about Stander going into second row.
