The balls to be trying to come back and hit a driver that well with so much danger

  • Registered Users Posts: 21,200 ✭✭✭✭Mushy

    Need to be making those

Not at it with the putter today

Coltart called the last two putts. Don’t give the hole away and Rory did.

3 great chances missed in a row. If he doesn’t birdie 11, his chances may be gone even if it looks like nobody wants to win this

    Needs a -4 back 9. Think 11 will be winning/playoff

    He is the ultimate bottler.

Needed that bird to make it interesting - probably too far back.

Only chance is Scott is as bad.

Yup, Fedex champion up against brooks 2 times major winner, bottled it.
    Players champion, bottled it.

3 days of exception golf, 2 bad holes...bottled it.

Really? been exception tee to green for the entire tournament, putting letting him down for birdies, but he doesn't need many of them at the moment.

I guess you just tuned into the tournie 5 mins ago.

I mean , he is brutal at winning with pressure on him.

But Rory , doesn't look like he can get there, to put heat on.

He's also a past champion here, last time he was out he's won. All be it that was December but....no signs of any pressure by the looks of that pitch.

    Couldn't care.

Wouldn't back Scott with a 5 shot lead in any back nine.

    Hopeless.

    1 back anyway

Crazy how close it is at the top. That's huge from Rory, massive miss from Scott too.

McIlroy had the lowest 3rd round scoring average on the entire PGA Tour in 2018. Yet he ranked 54th on his Sunday scoring average, down from 9th in 2017. The numbers do not lie and McIlroy has seen his Sunday performances decline precipitously, a fact perhaps made worse by just how well he managed to play on Saturdays.

I’m not trying to troll here. I just followed my post with some statistics, apologies if it came across the wrong way.

Statistics which conveniently overlook the last twelve months.

You couldn't have a flakier leader board.

    Rory
    Kuchar
    Scott
    DJ

Rory should hang in there in this.

Left a horrible looking chip, likely to make bogey. Giveszn opportunity to go to bed at least

The profundity is strong with one.

Not to be for Rory today, chin up and on to the next tournament.

Well I would agree that people look a bit too deep into these events.

The real raw edge of seat emotion is gone from top events these days - just about who takes the biggest cheque.

The only thing you see them really care at , is the majors, Ryder Cup - end of year events.

Commentators on sky try to talk these things up. But the lads are hardly on the edge of their nerves here.

Odd fist pump - 50/100 K difference - completely irrelevant to top players.
Yes money , but so what. As you say, always next week.

You're taking a cynical angle, which is your entitlement. Some of us just like to watch golf. And Rory McIlroy near the top of leaderboards.

    WTF?

So both the money and title mean nothing to them?

You say it’s about who take the biggest cheque but in the same post that money doesn’t count.

Yes I still like to watch good golf.

But - just the way modern golf is.

Top 50 are just so loaded. Has lost an edge. (IMO)
