Probably. But we will push them very close...

Well, usually when we dominate and win it’s because the opposition are crap....

    Not my view, mind you!

Yeah in some quarters it's: When we win then they're sh1t, when we lose we're sh1t

What's the verdict here? Are Ireland really good? Are Scotland really bad? A bit of both?

Scotland were effectively and efficiently shut down.

They’ve been gifted decisions in the last 10.

    We made Scotland bad lads.

Didn't allow them to play, controlled the game excellently.

People give out about our possession game but here shows exactly what it's for.

Massive target on Scotland's back for that final pool game.

Conan looks bunched. Some defensive shift from all 23 players.

What was that? Sounded like a Sumo match was starting at the end of this match.

Was tempted to put a few quid on Japan to beat Scotland there until I saw they're only 2/1. A Japan v All-Blacks game would be a cracker.

    Great result

14 tackles each from Conan and Ryan. Outstanding stuff.

53m from Farrell and 69m from Larmour is v impressive too.

The truth is we wont find out until the quarters. I cant imagine SA will be shaking in their boots, but then again we are formidable up front and clinical throughout.

    Let's see.

80 minute gong in all matches, great idea.

Where are all the we will struggle to get out of our group brigade now?

Very professional display from start to finish. Good to get some of the backups on earlier without the pressure of a game in the melting pot. We couldn’t have scripted a better start

That was a marker. And when was the last time best played a full game!?

Great performance all round. Great to shut Scotland out and not give them anything.

100% line out success as well. Great stuff.

Didn’t someone make up that it had gone to **** when POM went off?

Speaking of which, hopefully it’s just a stinger. He looked a bit more like the POM of old before going off.

Great not to have let them in for a try, particularly when a man down for last 10. About as good a start to tournament as could be expected.

Pure clinical and professional victory. Scots never looked liked scoring. Sublime defense across the whole 23.

We didn’t even have to show much in attack from our backs point of view. Great use of the whole squad today and everyone contributed.

It's a great result but it's one match, let's not try to predict our entire tournament from one match.
