Great news. The government and HSE need to be congratulated on their approach. Bravo.

That few hundred people down the beach last week must have been all virus free.

Tuesday is the day that matters - the rolling five day tally is what you need to read.

The new cases tally is being quite persistent at about 60.

A consistent relatively law figure is not to be complained about

In relation to this whole controversy about reducing the two metre social distancing to one metre, I just can't decide whether to listen to the publicans and restaurant owners who are motivated to lobby by their for-profit operational models or the various infectious disease experts who have careers in which they have specialised in viruses and their transmission for decades who say we should keep it at two metres... it truly is a partisan conflict!

I think the public deserve bigger praise tbh.

Government and HSE are doing what they are well paid to do.

That's great news. Hopefully it will stay like that.

It won't sadly. But as long as the new cases stay low we will keep the deaths low as well.

Under 50 hopefully in the next few days, then under 40. Step by step.

Yes, just one, on March 24th.

    No this is the first.
Sunday and Monday figures always come with a health warning but let’s be positive

I think the consistent low cases for the past week or so dispells the myth that people gathering before phase one was some major issue. It's a non-story.

    0 deaths is bloody fantastic!

I know, I know, listen to Tuesday's tally but ffs let us be happy, we haven't had a Monday without deaths as long as I can remember, so regardless of tomorrow, it's a fantastic figure for today!

I know today's news will be used for point scoring in lockdown vs reopening debates which is fair enough but I'm mostly just relieved to read some good news.

No deaths is amazing! Don’t mean it in a bad way as I admire their consistency but Branie2 can have a long overdue day off! :)

Could well have been but don't forget incubation period, age group, asymptomatic etc.

No, there was a day in March post-first confirmed case. But this is the first time since March.

"Dr Tony" would much prefer to announce 5 dead tomorrow than zero deaths today.

We've come far from the packed Temple Bar pubs and the pointless Shamrock delivery service to the USA.

It's slightly disingenuous to suggest it's just business owners that want the 2 m rule adjusted.

I know, the naysayers would wear you out. If I ever become that joyless, I’d like somebody to drag a sharp implement across my throat and put me out of my misery.

No new deaths, brilliant news. Terrible news of course for the doom mongerers on here though :)
