100%. I got stuck trying to go through some doors last night. I was trapped in a house. I had to attack a guard to get him to throw me in jail to escape.

I quite enjoy the save mechanic. It keeps men on my toes and makes me think twice before running into a bandit camp.

Is it even possible to do lockpicking properly with a m/kb? Seems like it is reliant on key pressure, but maybe i was just doing it wrong.

Either way, i'm a good honourable lad, so i wouldn't be stealing stuff. It is frustrating clearing out a bandit camp only to find a locked chest however. Surely one of the bandits i just slaughtered should have had a key?

I'm a thief. Lockpicking is 100% possible on kb/m. Git gud

Haha I love it. I hope there are stats shown toward the end... I've definitely spent way more game time in jail than anything else

Had a mixed night last night. Cleared a few bandit camps after Prest...i mean Captain Bernard sent me on some missions, and had a great fight with a random knight who stopped me for a chat/fight. Got myself a decent amount of money, and bought some good armour. Don't like the tunnel vision on my new helmet though (obviously, it's historically accurate, but still). Next up is a good sword, as mine is ****e. I think i'll move from sword and shield to a 2h sword though(bastard sword?). Also need to get some extra bags for my horse though, as i nearly hit my weight limit with just my armour.

Then i had a frustrating 2 hours when the game crashed once after 40 minutes of fighting and exploring, then went a bit mad in the middle of the same fight when i got back there, which caused me to die somehow (still not sure what happened).

When it works, it's damn good fun. When it doesn't, but christ it's frustrating.

Haha. I was reading through it and thought 'what's the problem?' It takes a very derpy turn towards the end.

Gonna be honest was thinking "game breaking quests" then......well jebus....

If it was made in England it would have no such issues.

I have a couple of games to trade, waiting for someone to get sick of the bugs and sell their copy to my local cex :(

Gamestop were doing some trade in deal where you can get 50 quid for certain titles recently. Don't know the full ins and outs but might be worth looking into as you could buy a new copy handy enough then.

Yeah had a look and my games aren't on it. They were offering me 18 quid for Shadow of the Colossus and selling Kingdom Come for 70. Smyths aren't taking trade ins anymore so just leaves me with cex, just have to wait for a copy to come in.

Here's the Eurogamer review. Incredibly unprofessional. A reviewer's personal 'uneasiness' of a made up issue should not come close to a critical review.

    http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2018-02-20-kingdom-come-deliverance-review

TLDR: Not enough 'people of colour'. In medieval Europe.

Yeah that's pretty daft. It's a normal enough review for the most part then out of nowhere they drop that bomb.

Pretty standard for mainstream game journalists at this point. In fact all mainstream outlets seem to have a subtle negative posture to the game (with one outright saying they won't touch it). GameJournoPros 2.0 at work no doubt since the creator of KCD has apparently been in support of gamergate.

I didn't know anything about the developer when I bought it, only heard about it afterwards. In fairness the guy seems like an absolute gob****e. As for the game, I haven't got to spend much time with it but 9 hours in and finally did something silly. Punched a trader in the back of the head to see what would happen, guard came over to arrest me and i decided to leg it. Ended up with about 6 guards chasing me around Rattay, got stuck in a dead end so decided to fight a guard with just my fists, needless to say it didn't go well and I got a game over for getting kicked out of the Baliffs service for incompetence. 10/10 would do again.

I'd say fair play to him, he refused to kowtow to these loons even though he knew they'd label him a racist and everything else. His game is a massive success and it shows that these journos and their stupid agendas have no real power over the customers

Not sure I'd agree with you, I think its fair to question a game that he defends as 100% historically accurate when there are elements that may not be truly accurate. Saying that I haven't read or seen anywhere showing conclusive evidence that the lack of diversity in the game is inaccurate. I don't think anyone questioning it is a loon but they are entitled to question these things.

I think he's a gob****e because of his obvious Alt-right links as documented on Resetera, nothing to do with this game.

The whole GamerGate nonsense is a load of sh*te, both sides. But I wouldn't be championing this guy. He seems like a proper racist.

Don't get me wrong, the reviewers asking for black people in a 15th century european game need a good slap. But this guy associates himself with some absolute scummy people. He doesn't seem like the best guy.

Did you read the Eurogamer review?? There's a link in it. Don't really agree with the review but as Kirby says, he associates with the worst of the worst. I mean James Woods, Paul Joseph Watson, its a list of alt right arseholes that he's endorsed publicly.

He's retweets people including, James Woods the actor and notable alt right nazi apparently? He has a problem with socialism, given that he grew up behind the iron curtain? Outrageous stuff.

I'm not interested in getting into a debate about this subject but if you think James Woods is "just an actor" these days I'd suggest doing a quick google of some of his views/behaviours. My point was the guy retweets and likes absolute arsholes, if you think those people aren't arseholes then clearly we have different opinions on such things.

Anyway I don't want this thread to devolve into a discussion about the developer, it might require its own thread. I think the game is fun regardless of my disagreeing with his views.

They should just leave the SJW bull**** to the likes of Polygon and Kotaku, it has no place in game reviews and they were one of the last sites that weren't shoving it down everyones throat. I honestly hope I never read another of that guys "reviews" though, he is clearly in the wrong job and should look for a more appropriate soapbox for his internalised guilt.
