So what are the most common thread types here? Leaving aside current affairs, like the Trump election or Brexit.

    1. Affairs, infidelity, sex
    2. Immigration
    3. X (being someone from the world of sports or entertainment)...RIP
    4. Food and alcohol related threads
    5. Any topic at all that turns into blaming feminism

    Any others?

Single mothers, homeless people who aren't really homeless, what kind of person you find attractive, how feminists are bringing down the Western world, dole scrounging while doing nixers, lazy public sector folks on millionaires pensions and teachers and garda not knowing when they're well off, travellers, and immigrants sexing all the women and taking all the jobs.

Lord yes. Whenever someone brings up evolutionary psychology or some variant on the theme ("it's nature, people living on the Serengheti used to have to survive by cutting dole to single mothers") it's always a red flag for some absolute bull**** masquerading as scientific insight. And there's never a shortage of that around AH.

I shouldn't have done that, but in my defence, I wasn't listening to George Formby. But I also don't like the stuff you're talking about either ( I think); Kris Kristofferson, CCR, the song "Convoy", and whatever. The Rolling Stones. The Osmond. The Whatever.

    (I like The The.)
