What do we think is on next Monday?

    Clue 1: Missing Dylan's beau
Clue 2: Following on from Lewis's 'A' of a Perfect Day.
Clue 3: The men lead a charmed cast.

April 20th sees Odeon showing a Scream Unscreen.

It's a screen Unscreen but it's guaranteed to be a horror movie.

The first clue is "A dancing devil gives our cuddly friend guidance."

    Saw Demolition last night.
Sorry to say, I thought it was dire.
I love Jake Gyllenhall but this film was just all over the place. His character was totally unbelievable and the hook-up with Naomi Watts simply stretched credulity.

I found it an odd film. I still don't know what it was trying to say to me, but it did hold my attention for the full time. Loved the young lad, couldn't warm to Naomi Watts' character at all.

The third clue is "A different hue from Bombay Sapphire". The word to the wise is that the film is
    Green Room
    .
    This looks a minor classic!

I've seen that and personally I'd think it'd be stretching it to call it a horror film! I suppose it could be regarded as such if you're really pushing it, but weird to actively go out of your way to have it playing as a special horror-themed event.

Any good? Just won tickets to see it this weekend - I was probably going to see it anyway, but winning them is always nice :)

I loved Blue Ruin, and though it looks to be a slightly more sinister tone, the trailer was promising (ignoring the reveals and spoilers).

I actually do consider Green Room a horror in that it was genuinely the scariest film I've seen in the cinema in years. It's a claustrophobic thriller but with the neverending bloodshed, tension and terror of a classic slasher movie.

Loved it at the Dublin Film Festival, I'm going again this week.

Rumour has it that the Odeon Screen Unseen tomorrow might be Arrival. Not 100% sure though. Any thoughts?

Clue 1: Before we question dreams once more
Clue 2: Baby Chick and SD-6 Siren team up again
Clue 3: Featuring multiple tar-like vehicles
Clue 4: What happens after you cross the borderline?

Clue 1 might point to Bladerunner 2049 (Denis Villeneuve's next movie) and clue 3 might point to the ships. The other clues are throwing me off though. SD-6 points to Jennifer Garner maybe? Garner is in Wakefield (also due soon) so I'm not sure.

There was a collective whispered 'Yes!!' when the title came up in our cinema.

Loved it, loved it. loved it. Will probably go again to see it when it opens.

    and talking to her boyfriend.

otherwise it was good it was my first time at a screen unseen

Looks like Odeon's Scream Unseen (on Monday) is going to be Split.

Clue 1: A career forged from small beginnings
Explanation: M Night wrote Stuart Little.

Clue 2: Almost the other half of the Christian visionary
    Explanation: Devil.

    Clue 3: "It’s after Sundown…"
    Explanation: The Visit.

Really looking forward to it, it's supposed to be M. Knight Shyamalan's best movie in years...
    For a fiver, it's a no-brainer. :)

There's another one next Monday, 23rd January.
The smart money is on 20th Century Women

I'm following the #screenunseen hashtag on Twitter - they usually suss it out before the movie comes out.

For the clue on Monday - Hint 1. Robinson removed influences rhythms.

Someone posted: James Robinson played a 10y/o William Wallace. Mel Gibson + Hacksaw Ridge?

Hard to know yet, but it's out the following Thursday so it's probably a good bet.

    Scream Unseen is back tomorrow.

Based on release dates, upcoming horror movies are:

    Get Out (out March 17th)
    Personal Shopper (out March 17th)
The Autopsy of Jane Doe (out March 31st)
    Raw (out April 7th)

First clue is "One of Antonio's closest".

If I find out what it is, I'll post back here.

Hopefully it's Get Out - it has been getting incredible reviews.

Have just had an email through from Odeon saying that the new Screen Unseen will be on Monday 24th April.
Clue 1: Celestial call to Scandinavian golfer

    From #odeonscreenunseen on Twitter -

"Celestial call to Scandinavian golfer" can only mean one thing: Mindhorn. Simon Farnaby plays a character called Parnevik

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,431 ✭✭✭MilesMorales1

    It was indeed Mindhorn.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,431 ✭✭✭MilesMorales1

Next clue for the 19th June showing - Politicial hangover.

  • Registered Users Posts: 55,452 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

Clue 2: Soon shorter star, surrogate shop

  • Registered Users Posts: 55,452 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

Clue 3: Tiny, dark, waiting in the wings

  • Registered Users Posts: 55,452 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

I've read a theory on Twitter that it could be Spiderman: Homecoming. The clues fit better than Baby Driver.

The 4th clue in next day or two will be interesting.

Clue 1: Politicial hangover (SH is set after Civil War)
Clue 2: Soon shorter star, surrogate shop (The letter S, Tom Holland is shorter than Andrew Garfield - yeah, this is a stretch)
Clue 3: Tiny, dark, waiting in the wings (A spider?)

I seriously doubt that the studio would allow it out 16 days early though.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,431 ✭✭✭MilesMorales1

Hasn't baby driver been done at cineworld unlimited already?

  • Registered Users Posts: 55,452 ✭✭✭✭Mr E

Cineworld Unlimited is not Odeon Screen Unseen. Different chains.

  • Registered Users Posts: 6,431 ✭✭✭MilesMorales1

Yeah but I mean they don't generally do the same films. Presumably it's something unexpected.

I'd say its def Baby Driver by last two clues. Would love to go but can't

Clue 3. "Tiny, Dark, waiting in the wings" - Antman? EW wrote the script years ago with Joe Cornish and was left unused. Think it was seen as unsuitable for Marvel - not sure about being too dark
Clue 4. "Fingers 'n' Finest formed" - EW's first movie was a fist full of fingers
