    Ahem… it's VVVVVV actually.

Anyone who hasn't played Wolfenstein yet it is nearly always on special. It is well worth it.

Invisible Inc. is brilliant, at least try the games before bitching about them.

VVVVV is also amazing if you somehow haven't played that yet.

I think the discounts are an underrated part of the value actually. I probably save a fiver four or five times a year with various PS+ discounts on reduced priced items. Assuming that the pre-PS+ discount price would have been the true Sale price if Plus didn't exist then that's half the cost back already.

The problem here for me is that discounted full retail psn games are still cheaper online elsewhere.

The ones that are digital only you are hesitant about buying , even with a discount, because they are the games PLUS keeps dishing out.

Since I have a large backlog of Plus games as it is, I don't have a negative reaction to indie games being included, but I have to say if this is the Christmas games, it's a far cry from the time of Arkham City.
Though since new owners will get a trial sub, by the time it's up, the January games will be announced if they're not already announced before Christmas, and these are the ones they'll be using to convince people to stay. Like January this year consisted of Grim Fandango, Dragon Age Origins and Medal of Honor Warfighter.

Interested in Invisible inc and VVVVVV but it doesn't blow me away. Was hoping they'd announce a better line up than this at PSX. It was nice getting Resident Evil & Transformers a few months back but they haven't improved on the ps4 titles as much over time as I expected.

I bought a PS4 to play next gen games, not ****ty side scrolling 2D crap I can play on my phone.

Buy some next gen games then.

And don't play the PS+ ones? Hardly rocket science, you don't like the games, don't pay for them, if you need online you'll be paying the sub anyways

And that's probably the mindset Sony has too - if you need a sub to play online then tough **** if you don't like the games. The flip side of that is that you are also paying for an online service which is frequently down or unavailable, so the least you would expect in return for paying it is a quality title for free here and there, not this bargain basement ****e and definitely not in the one month of the year where it wouldn't kill them to offer some decent.

    Different strokes for different folks.

In defence of Sony in the last month or so I have played Journey and Limbo, two games I doubt I would ever buy.

I have a PS4 and Vita (Vita bought shortly after PS4 launch) and I feel I would get much more out of Plus if I had a PS3, has a 360 last gen. Some of the PS3 titles have been great since the PS4 launch.

I think the main problem with Plus is the phrase "I'm number one, why try harder?" If Sony weren't comfortably in the lead against the Xbox One I'm sure we would see more crowd pleasers.

Overall being a Plus and Xbox Live Gold member, Gold does seem the better of the two, but I guess it has to as MS are playing catch-up. Going by standard price it is more expensive (€60 versus €50) but no-one in the know pays full price. The most I have paid for it is €35 and the least about €27. MS have also brought that wonderful thing on the Xbox forum that is going on "holiday". Using your Gold discounts and buying from a different region means I can pick up games for dirt cheap. A bumper edition of Dead Rising 3 for €7.90 and the Rise of the Tomb Raider season pass for around €4.40 being 2 recent purchases.

Looking at this month, I'll probably play Invisible Inc. and might dip my toe in VVVVVV. On the GWG side I have already played Outlast thanks to Plus but am looking forward to the definitive edition of Sleeping Dogs and Burnout Paradise, two games I missed first time around. Outland is the unknown for me but seems very well reviewed from a Google.

I don't mean to be having a dig at Sony seeing as I own a PS4 and Vita, but they could really do with pulling up their socks before the Scorpio comes along.

Full retail yes but they do some great sales and frequently things are further discounted with the PS+ discount.

The only full retail price I've paid for any game the last 18 months or so was Madden. Most games are frequently discounted in one PSN sale or other within a couple of months.

Is invisible Inc cross buy/play in any way for the vita?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,532 ✭✭✭WarZoneBrother

    Rumour was true:

Here’s what you can play from 6th December:

Stories: The Path of Destinies (PS4)
    Invisible, Inc. (PS4)
Hyper Void (PS4, PS3, PS Vita)
Tiny Troopers Join Ops (PS4, PS3, PS Vita)
    Color Guardians (PS4, PS Vita)
    VVVVVV (PS Vita)

Is Hyper Void going to be with the VR section? Pretty sure that's a VR game anyways?

Had good fun playing VVVVVV last night.

Are any of this month's games any good? Tiny Troopers sorta looks like Cannon Fodder... might be worth a quick bash.

  • Registered Users Posts: 9,196 ✭✭✭maximoose

I had a little play of Color Guardians lastnight after Virgin shat itself across the country.

    It's.....pretty crap.

Any decent deal currently for a PS+ sub? Mine expired yesterday and I want to get a new one tomorrow.

  • Registered Users Posts: 2,174 ✭✭✭ItsHoggie

When this months games were announced I had a quick look on YouTube and didn't like the look of any of them, tonight though I was bored off my head so I thought I'd give Stories a go and I think it's a great little game, delighted to have got it this month.

I've completed the story 3 times already, but tbf it only last around an hour long :pac: but with there being 25 possible endings and each new playthrough almost like a NG+ it keeps bringing me back :D

It's "unavailable" for me, wonder if it's just for new members that sign up?

Nice, appears I'm eligible, my sub expired the end of last month. Picked up a new card from Argos (got 10% off with GoRewards and came with a €5 voucher) but haven't used it yet.
