A whopping 0/4 from Johnny Ward
Two longshots which weren't far off and were worth a punt. The rest were as successful as your treble posted above.

My punts were published on a forum for opinions, his was and are posted on a publication's website where readers trust the advice of the writer.
Big difference, you wouldn't see me coming on here calling Gavin a f*cking eejit.

To be fair, we've all been there where we have done a 3/4 fold and all legs are losses.

Agree with that, always worth a outside bet in the FAI Cup early stages when LoI teams are in it. Was little value around, hopefully a few interesting ties crop up today - hopefully Crumlin get a nice tie for a bet!

Is 5pts JWs max bet? If so, 4pts on Rovers -2 & 3pts on Derry -2 were bad bets. No way you lump on the FAI Cup without confirmed 11.

Think Dundalk are gone up to 3/1 on Pp for the cup after drawing Derry yesterday. Rovers now favourites at 2.5/1.

    ***LEAGUE OF IRELAND BETS***
Back with two bets this week - took week in the Premier so two First Div bets. Waterford Draw No Bet at evens does look a shout but depends what Waterford and what Cork teams decide to show up.

Second placed Drogs host bottom team Wexford. Danny Furlong their key striker who scored 9 of their 20 goals this season retired during the week so will be a huge loss to Wexford. Drogs should ease past these.

Cabinteely still in with a shout for the League and only two points between 2nd/3rd spots in 4th. Solid home form against an out of form Galway who've really had a nothing season.

    Drogheda -1.75 Asian @ 1.85 (Bet365/Asia/General) - Small/Med Stake

    Cabinteely -1.25 Asian @ 2.00 (Bet365/Asia/General) - Small Stake

    Drogs 6-0
    Cabo 0-1 surprise loss

    ***LEAGUE OF IRELAND BETS***
And we're back with a couple of bets... Premier looks like a minefield so going with First Div games. A must win game for both teams in the First Division to keep pressure on Shels at the top.
Second placed Drogheda travel to second from bottom Athlone. They've played twice this season with Drogs coming out the better in both games with a two goal advantage.
Third placed Longford travel to bottom side Wexford and anything other than a win will see their title challenge over you would imagine, sitting 8 points off top and two games to play for after this. Wexford have just won two games all year and lost their top striker Danny Furlong before their last League game against Drogheda (which they lost 6-0). Furlong scored 9 of their 20 goals this season... Longford have won both encounters this seaosn but only by a goal - that should change tomorrow.

    Drogheda -1.25 Asian @ 1.75 (Bet365/Asia) - Small/Med Stake

    Longford -1.5 Asian @ 1.75 (Bet365/Asia) - Small/Med Stake

Doesn't look great for the LOI hierarchy.

Surprised it took so long... Paddy Power not paid out on the Sligo - Limerick game to date.

    When was that match played?

  • Registered Users Posts: 17,963 ✭✭✭✭Gavin "shels"

    24th August.

That would make sense all right.
Limerick 2 up, 3 sent off and end up losing 6-2.
I'm sure there must be other matches during the season bookies haven't paid out on as well.
Anybody know did betting exchanges pay out on that match?

Don't think they've refused to pay out on other games but there's been at least four other games with dodgy patterns.

PP only haven't paid out on Sligo game. All others been paid out on. If it wasn't for PP reporting these few matches, Limerick would be getting away with this tbf.

3 home wins, Bohs, Pats, Sligo at 3/1 pp

A lot at stake in Drogs game so...... Draw at 5/2 looks big, bet365

    Edit, no joy on either.

Away all week at a wedding and had a promotion party to attend yesterday so didn't get to post over the losing bet on Cobh yesterday here.

Backing Dundalk medium/large stake tomorrow - odds seem to be gone so may have to take -0.75 medium.

So backing minus 0.75 medium is same as backing Dundalk to win ? 7 to 10 best price ?

Nope, -0.75 is Asian handicap for -0.5, -1.0. Dundalk have drifted so probably get win at an Ok price.

Fancy the draw in Bohs and Rovers @ 11/5 on PP. Might take a scored draw, not sure.

Game I'm avoiding tbh. Maybe at bet when teams are announced as Bohs could be missing some key players who are listed as doubtful.

Dundalk near evens tonight at home to Derry. I know the league is won but surely that's a decent price . Any team news? 4 players missing according to dundalk twitter

From RP- St pats 4 point tipdundlak 2 pointg

Dundalk can continue their celebrations after winning the League of Ireland title by beating Derry City in Oriel Park.

The Lilywhites are a dramatically bigger price than they would normally be on the basis of having the league wrapped up but any Dundalk player slacking off is playing a dangerous game.

The Lilywhites effectively have two players for each position and their bench was again shown to great effect when they beat Sligo in the FAI Cup last weekend. Derry are no mugs but Dundalk should win.

St Patrick's are the bet of the weekend at home to Waterford United, the odds seeming to take almost no account of the fact that Waterford are just playing out the season, while St Patrick's are fighting for a place in Europe, which is not yet guaranteed.

Since Stephen O'Donnell came in, they have been stronger defensively, and the key for Saints is to start scoring goals. But Waterford are no great shakes defensively and Pat's should oblige at home against inferior opponents with nothing to play for.

Saints were excellent in their last game, shutting out Shamrock Rovers in Tallaght
