Hi all,
Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    I met some friendly folk in black water then some eejit went on a killing spree and I get low honour for killing him back, hardly fair.

    I saw the free Grizzly outfit on the tailors, forgot about the free PS4 items. Went to claim the Arabian but it would mean trading in my lovely black Kentucky saddler so will wait till I get a new slot in the stable. The double action revolver can be got for free at any fence, absolute beauty.

    And yes, everything is way too expensive in this.

    I tried a Sadie like lady as well and came out hideous, the character creation is crap but the fellas come out way better. Yeah, the alligator saddle looks lovely and has some nice perks to go with it.

    Just started playing online last night. So far so good. I'm glad everything is the same as it is in the single player. I'm just getting the hang of things but looking forward to really diving into it now.

    Apart from doing main missions and stranger missions, I've also raided a number of hideouts. So far i'm mainly based around the New Austin area. I keep getting distracted by the stranger missions so that's why I haven't moved on yet, but i'm not in any rush.

    Only time i've really been killed was when some random player knifed me in the back while i was drinking in the saloon in Blackwater. I went in to see if I could get some food, while there was someone already in there. I decided to play it cool and just go about my own business but the other lad had other ideas. Other than that I haven't had any other altercations with players.

    Fair play to Rockstar - no disconnects, no waiting in lobbies, was able to connect with friends easily. I remember the Grand theft online launch being a complete nightmare and didn't expect I would be able to play red dead at all.

    R* getting hammered online about their cost of items Vs money you make (and rightfully so).

    I get how microtransactions are a given these days but 2 gold bars to customize a pistol is ****ing mad.

    Either R* testing the beta to see what they can get away with our it's their plan to reduce it anyway making them look like the good guys while still getting you to pay real money to customize items.

    Some of those customisation are gold, but most of the gold prices are for stuff you're not at level to get.

    I bought a second gun holster for 2 gold as you need to be level ~40 to get it normally.

    I had no intent of playing this online, as I didn't play GTA V online due to the monetisation. Nice to see it's the same here. I didn't buy it for online anyway, plenty of other games to play instead. I'll dip in here every now and again and see if it becomes playable at any stage.

    Just to say, if you buy max ammo from a gunsmith you get the max you can hold but if you buy max from catalogue to get far more as it goes to you camp.

    It's not any cheaper per bullet but I just bought max and got 300 bullets when I can only hold 100 so the rest are staying in camp.

    I never once felt the need or want to buy shark cards in GTA online but this definitely is leaving towards them wanting you to buy stuff. I see that fast travel is unlocked at rank 67 :)

    The money side is a bit mad but I wouldn't let that put you off as it's still a great game. It was tense out blackwater with 8 other randomers strolling around as well.

    Had a great laugh a few mins ago - just finished the “Wrong side of the tracks” mission, and we all spawned back near blackwater. Glanced at the map and there were red dots everywhere - game had loaded the 4 of us back in to an area with the whole lobby present.

    Needless to say when everyone copped what was happening, a massive fistfight broke out.I managed to KO about 3 or 4 guys before I got taken out :D
