Vanilla are planning an update to the site on April 24th (next Wednesday). It is a major PHP8 update which is expected to boost performance across the site. The site will be down from 7pm and it is expected to take about an hour to complete. We appreciate your patience during the update.

    If its just a re-hash of FC5, why not just offer it as a DLC.....oh ya, more €€€€ to be made from a "full" release.

    Didn't Ubisoft do the same kind of thing with Farcry Primal by re-using the Farcry 4 map?

    I've no clue, I skipped FC4 and Primal, didnt like the look of them and I can say the same for this TBH. :o

    They did reuse the map both this and Primal should have been in the season pass, bar Far cry 3 the season pass for 5 was really halfhearted, short and just seemed lazy.

    I think I'm done with Far Cry unless they change it up. I enjoyed 5 in the first area but then it went into repeat mode for the next 2 areas.

    Unsure about this. But the pricing seems to indicate it's being treated as more of a side-step than a full game...$39.99 tag. So I'd probably give it a go, loved Far Cry 5 but not a fan of the wacky, sort of 'Borderlands' vibe off this.

    It depends on what area you done first IMO.

    I done the whacked out poppy fields in Faiths area and I enjoyed it but spent most of time there and grew to hate it eventually. Had I went to Jacobs or Johns region first, it would have been a much better game as the areas had more going in them, I started to speed through their regions to complete the game as Faiths area was such a pain in the arse.

    On the subject of map re-use, as the Kotaku article pointed out, it was just the heightmaps that were reused with minor modifications, the world still had to be textured and filled with new vegetation and game assets to mirror the change in setting.

    So is it, along with the general lack of innovation and technical issues in the title, worthy of a less-than-AAA price point? Sure. But should it have been included in the Season Pass? Nah, that's a bit much imo. For the price Ubisoft are asking, however, I'd expect three episodes of the standard and length of Blood Dragon, something they definitely didn't delivered on for the last two mainline iterations.

    I've seen a few FB ads for it but I've no interest in it.

    I put a good few hours into FC5 and then went back and completed FC3 that came with it so I'm done with the franchise for awhile.

    If FC5 didn't finish up on such a stupid ****ing note I might have been interested in this. I have no interest in playing any further titles set in that world after wasting 40 hours on the last one for **** all payoff.

    I'm really interested in it, looks a lot more fun than FC 5. I have Trials Rising 2 in the next couple of weeks and then Division 2 after that so I'm good for the time being, will wait for a sale on this. I was reading about their expeditions yesterday. 1x1 km maps outside the main map to do missions. One they spoke about was they Alcatraz. They recreated the prison island and then put their own take on what it would look like after a nuclear explosion. They said expeditions like this will be in locations across the world giving players a different taste than Hope County. Sounds like a nice touch.

    I'd be astonished if this wasn't on sale soon. Maybe not as quick as BFV but there's so much out now and soon I don't see how it gains much traction.

    This is definitely not FC6 anyway. It's more like the primal release a few years ago. Likely didn't take effort to release and it's more like an expansion for FC5 hence they're not charging full price.

    I watched that ACG review, first thing that struck me is he was running the game with damage numbers off.
    Seems crazy as its one of the new features and really immersive for an rpg game, this is touted as rpg light so i dont get why he done so.
