Pointless anyway as unless they agree to the WA the default is no deal.

They've been far better than the BBC throughout the whole Brexit debacle for me.

The BeeB seems to be more concerned these days on having gender balance on their panels and contributors.

    Amendment A (Caroline Spelman) Result

This calls for MPs to reject leaving without a deal in any circumstance.

    PASSED

    Yes - 312
    No - 308
    Majority - 4

    That are insane!

Must they not adjust legislation accordingly?

A non-binding vote? With a slim majority? Where have I seen that before?

Does this oblige the British government to revoke A50 if it gets down to the wire with no deal in place?

Jesus that was a bit close for comfort.

Surprised it was so close. Many MPs still away with the fairies, or should we say unicorns.

Nothing to do with that in the slightest, bizzare comment given the political editor of Sky News is a woman and Kay Burley is playing a blinder. You see reverse sexism everywhere.

    Next Vote

    Amendment F (Malthouse v2)
This instructs the government to extend Article 50 until 22nd May and offer a transitional phase until end of 2021, with no backstop commitment.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,229 ✭✭✭LeinsterDub

So all we need for now deal in May and 2 others to jump ship?

Has to be a few big cabinet minsters or 'ex' cabinet ministers in that defeat?

Pointless either way as the EU will never buy it.

    This is tomorrow, isn't it?

We sat again for an hour and a half discussing maps and figures and always getting back to that most damnable creation of the perverted ingenuity of man - the County of Tyrone.

Nope. Non-binding vote, far as I'm aware. As someone else said, it's a bit of a pointless vote, but at least they're making a little progress on what they actually do and don't support.

Apparently, Ministers voting against the Gov. means automatic resignations.

That'll fail for sure. So just going around in circles as it has always been

Technically speaking they weren't voting against no deal off the table, but against this particular version of it. Party politics and a preference for a more meaningless type of brexit off the table vote. But who knows for sure?

So May whipped her government to vote No, is that why the gap was so small?

Sorry, I’m getting confused about the structure of the amendments and what yes and no mean.
