I have 85 euros worth of tickets and I'm not checking them, I'm keeping the dream alive. It's very exciting.

Tullamore sold a 500k ticket last week, might be confusing people.

Just a question will the lottery tell us where the ticket was bought at some point even if(and its very likely they will) the winner(s) don't want to go public ?

  • Registered Users Posts: 20,546 ✭✭✭✭dxhound2005

If they gave €40 to every person in the country, they would have no money left.

No way that's true, only an idiot would come out and declare himself the winner. If it's me I'll tell no one.

    Why ?

Yeah they usually say where it was bought, if it was in a shop or petrol station they get something for selling the winning ticket

Waaaaaay too much money!!! Congrats to whoever won but at the same time in typical Irish begrudgery they can go **** themselves!!!

I go to a different shop every time I buy a ticket. At least 50 miles away from where I live. That way when I win, it will be hard for people to track me down.

because I have a smile on my face right now, if I check numbers that will disappear.
Ideally no one comes out and claims it, then a day goes by , dream still alive, then a week, dream still alive. That would be fun.

The sooner they can tell people where it was sold the better.

If it's me I will give you 200k. You can quote that and hold me to it.

It won't be won midweek, I said to myself. I hadn't the spare cash to do it anyway.

    Ah well.

Like schroeder's cat.... As it stands, you have won the LOTTO :)

The unfortunate person/people. Life will be a hell on earth, unbearable misery. Just like the last big winners who we never hear a word about now.

The advice I heard from someone is to say nothing at all and do nothing at all.

In a few months, when there is an anonymous winner of a much smaller amount in the Lotto of say €500,000 or €1m, tell your friends and relations that was you. An amount big enough to give up the job and be a little generous. Anyone you give money to, tell them to keep it a secret, so nobody can add up.

When someone asks how you make it stretch, claim to have made some great investments. After a while, people will just accept you have money.

If I ever win it, that is what I will do.

We did a few extra tickets in the work syndicate today...

    It won't be us

  • Registered Users Posts: 39,443 ✭✭✭✭Itssoeasy

I'm in a syndicate (besides the time I do it myself)that I've not heard from any of them yet. Now either that means we didn't win(most likely outcome) or the other three lads are panned out on their living room floors after fainting. So I've still some hope.

    Apparently it was Conor Mcgregor

That's a very defeatist attitude to be fair. One ticket in this country is worth €175 million so why can't it be your syndicate ?

Not really defeatist. The odds are quite clearly against us.
