-3 today (E overall), latest birdie at hole 3.

ed. if shot tracker can be believed, he landed a second shot from fairway to green within 7ft for another birdie chance at 4.

ed 2.0. sunk it to move to -1!

Harrington is going full nuclear on the course today....that double must have woken something in him.....just ease it home now.....this is epic stuff...I would say if it was last year, that start would have sunk him...further evidence that this is a different paddy to last year...

Unbelievable stuff the double bogey spurred him on, or else he's lifted it up a notch with Rory looking on either way, hes buzzing hope he has that stare back in this eyes. Go Paddy! +3 - 4 under some man

Dreadful par putt on the last, still great effort to comfortably make the cut from where he was.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,069 ✭✭✭MarcusP12

Yes,let's forget about the couple of shots dropped and instead focus on a great achievement to make the cut from where he was...3Rd round will be key here to any hope he has to finish really well...lot of world ranking points up for grabs here...if I remember this is the highest ranking tournament outside of majors and wgc so worth keeping the head and finishing well...

Putting from distance was much better yesterday but still missing too many 5 footers for par. He's dropped 6 shots at 10 and 11 first two rounds also, could have been comfortably inside top 10 without those disasters but to be fair most of the field are struggling at those two beasts of holes. Confident of him moving up leaderboard today as his driving and iron play are good as they have been since Hawaii. Another 68 would be lovely.

A really scruffy finish to his third round tonight. Three bogeys in his last four and taking himself out of contention for a Top 10/20 finish.

Disappointing finish alright...was ticking along nicely until then and with a par 5 to finish...two of the 3 bogeys were missed putts from inside 4 feet which is a killer for the confidence...the only thing with the way the leaderboard is, its so bunched up to the top 20 that if he played really well and picked up a couple of shots on those around him, top 20 is still feasible....its a shame to be talking in terms of top 20 as after 12 holes, top ten was definitely a runner....but hey, 3 cuts across the pond made in a row, been a while since he did that I would guess.....

+1 round but was -1 for most of it. Double bogey on a par 3 17th. +4 total, still that is 4 rounds of golf in.

14 players on + 4 missed the cut thanks to that birdie. McDowell included.

Doesn't have to worry about a 3rd cut himself now either.

I was just about to post a similar comment. Great minds and all that.

Great to see, I think it's fair to say over the past couple of seasons he'd have probably bogeyed 18 and been heading home.

Hopefully he can push on this weekend.

Indeed. Only saw the last hole, and was wondering how many scenic route sorties he had:).

Another good if unspectacular week from Paddy.....good finish considering he had to birdie his last to make the cut and could have been a lot better but for a bad double late in his round on Saturday. lots of positives to take from the weekend so hopefully just a matter of time before this unprecedented (in recent years) run of cuts made translates into a much better week. He's making the cuts which is the main thing as you can't challenge for T10 or even T20 without making the cut in the first place! That was a big problem for him last year. The consistency is there but would you swap a couple of cuts made for a top ten? personally no as I think its only a matter of time before he has a big week. He won last year which compensated for a rake of missed cuts but his game was not great by the end of the year so I think things are moving along nicely so far this year even if he does only have one really good week to show for it....

    what's next?

Have to say that was tough to watch. His lack of decisiveness over EVERY shot is shocking.
