How do I get a question raised in the Dail?

    Is it just a matter asking your local TD to raise the question, is there a protocol that needs to be followed?

    Ask your local Td or one who you think will be interested in the topic in question. Depends on the subject matter as well tbh.

    It might be useful to brief the TD on the background of the matter, as you see it.

    Basically, yes. You just contact him by mail or otherwise. Frame your question carefully so as to ensure that it will be answered (i.e. they can't refuse to answer it on the basis that it is not related to departmental business) and so as to ensure that the answer will actually include the information you are hoping to find.
