    Guirado is 33/1

    Other notable names:
    Earls 3/1
    Murray 17/2
    Huw Jones 9/1
    Matteo Minozzi 22/1

Barring a mare Saturday Sexton would have to get it. The DG being the defining moment of the championship will count favourably.

I wouldn't hold my breath. I don't think an outhalf has ever been given it. It's a popularity contest and Sexton isn't winning that.

Launchbury was superb last year but didn't even finish top 3.

Maybe, I can't envision a scenario where he doesn't get it. It being a after a Lions tour where a lot of other fans have a recent recollection of rooting for him might help in the popularity stakes. Besides that, like has been said, there's been no other really stand out candidate for us, he's the fulcrum of the side and must've amassed a huge amount of respect at this stage.

Perhaps Stockdale if he does well next week as him being a newcomer has a bit of a fairytale feel to it.

Handsome Rob sat out training today.

If he isnt available Saturday then just give England a walkover. :);)

He's available for selection according to Richie Murphy. He needs a break today. People don't understand how exhausting it is to be ridiculously good looking.

I wouldn't be so sure about that. With so many Irish players shortlisted, the vote is likely to be split.

The only thing that's split is the French posts after the greatest drop goal in history

He is my FB of the tournament IMO
Thought Chris Robshaw has had a good tournament for England
Parkes and Hill been good for Wales

    Sexton my PotT though

    That's bananas.

Not as bananas as the fact that no French player has ever won it. Ever. Andrea Masi has won more awards than all French players combined, despite four titles and two Slams since the award was brought in. England have won it once.

It's not a very credible award.

What Sexton did then (which was absolutely perfect defence imo) is exactly what I'd love to see Kearney do so much more of.
(Rather than the superman impersonation he nailed seconds before.)

Yes. His flailing attempt at a flying tackle on Jones was dreadful. He really had no chance of making it in that way unless Jones suffered some sort of temporary blindness. Stevie Wonder could have stepped him even without his guide dog. He should have done what Sexton did and 'marshalled' Jones.
One of the few things Rob did with less than stellar composure.

If Stockdale scores this weekend, it will be hard to see beyond him.

Guirado is in with a shot though. People warm to a gallant loser.

I always find it a bit disingenuous when commentators look at one side's chances without taking into account the actions of the opposition. I think even in commentary, the consensus was that Scotland rushed those passes and that's why they didn't go to hand. And a team rushes passes when they're under pressure. The way Jonny Sexton dealt with Huw Jones break is a case in point really. He didn't appear to do an awful lot, but what he did was change the balance very marginally in our favour; enough for Huw Jones to become indecisive.
TBH that was just a cock-up by Jones.

As soon as Hogg was on his shoulder the pass should have gone. Try under the sticks.

Will Sexton have his kicking boots with him on Saturday?

    Could that be the difference?

Nah, England will give us enough penalties that he can take it handy enough. He should ping a few at Mike Brown's face for the craic.

It'll be tight. It'll be tight.

If they fail, Patty's day could lead to the The Night of the Long Knives : Sexton, Best, Kearney, never seen nor heard of in green shirts again.....and Schmidt, sent back to the colonies.
