In the information booklet it states If you are successful you have to go for training, which is in templemore over a five week period? Does that mean you are required to stay overnight mon-fri or ?

I'm currently in AGS and I find it pretty good. Work life balance is good, no issues wth working up/taking off flexi, job share, term time etc and no dealing with the public really

That's great to hear. Regarding the locations, do you know if Westmeath is based in Athlone or Mullingar? Also would you know where in Sligo the Sligo office is based?

    Thanks

I haven't a clue but I would imagine Sligo town and Mullingar as those are the divisional headquarters but I'm open to correction

Circular 21/04 deals with incremental credit. It might clear it up for you

Would you have a link for that circular?

For some reason I can't attach it. Search "circular 21/04 incremental credit" on Google and it will come up

I would like to apply for this role but the residential training in templemore is a big downside for me. I have young kids and don't feel I could feck off for five weeks! As much Craic it would probably be! Does anyone know if you can just do a daily commute instead of being resident?

I am hoping you csn as I have a four year old and a one year old so being gone Monday to Friday for five weeks would not be ideal but I figure I can decide for definite if and when the time comes

Thanks crunchymomma I hope so too. In a similar situation myself. Judging by the last year the whole process takes about a year or so from application to training start, so at least our kids will be a bit older by then!

In the same boat with two young kids but might be glad of the full nights kip ha! Hoping it will be feasible to commute for some of the week at least. Have filled in most of the application form now, not quite sure how well I answered...especially the bit about experience, involvements, special qualities......

So I applied, I don't think I have the right qualifications etc or experience but I did it, fingers crossed.

I actually found it hard to give examples of qualitative data, did anyone else? I had to wreak my brain to try and come up with an answer/example. Theres probably a million examples, i just couldnt think!

Depends on your job and what you were working on. Did you ever have surveys where comments were allowed? This would count imo as qualitative data. Or did you get data from Interviews or Workshops? That would also be qualitative data.

    This is from 2007

    https://www.irishexaminer.com/ireland/icrime/garda-jobs-attract-strong-interest-28593.html
SOME 220 people have applied for three top civilian analyst positions in the gardaí.

Around 60 people have submitted applications for the position of senior crime and policing analyst, while a further 160 people have applied for the two positions of higher crime and policing analysts.

When these three positions are filled, a further 26 crime analysts will be recruited into the specialist unit in Garda Headquarters in Dublin’s Phoenix Park.

And two other articles from not so long ago
