GAA>Underdogs 2018

Couldn’t find a thread on this so far. Just a discussion on the new series of Underdogs on TG4. So far, an excellent and very interesting programme. Great production and soundtrack, as we can expect from TG4.

Good show so far alright. Enjoying the cupla focal from the lads to camera, followed presumably by a much more expressive version in English! :P
The only thing you don't really get from the show though is a sense of how good any of the lads are. I'd like if they had a bit more of the action, such as the match against St Brigids last night, just to see what sort of standard the lads are at.

Is there a list of the players available anywhere?

The number 16 who was scuffling with the St. Bridgets player is a bit of a character around my area, the family lives for football or "they sleep in the tracksuits" as people here would say.

No full list yet but if you look online, even basic google search and you will see a few players involved

I suppose the big difference between the older series of Underdogs and the new one is that we can see all the changes that have happened in the GAA with regards to what goes on in the background now with inter county GAA teams

This series has been very good so far.

Cheers. Couldn't see it when I went to the player site but that direct link has it. Do they stay on long? Want to wait til I'm on a bigger screen.

Very enjoyable so far.Taim ag baineamh an taitneamh as an clar.

The players back stories add a lovely dimension to the proceedings.

Reckon the much talked about Kerry lad Sean O Shea has nailed down the number one jersey.By all accounts he's a damn fine outfield player.

Shame for Blake Forkan with his injury setback.

I'm sceptical that Richie will buy into the dietary modification that's required.

Lots of driven individuals Fintan and in particular the Dublin lad Ciaran. As he said he regretted the mistake he made in his twenties of socialising rather than applying himself to trying for the Dublin setup.

He's now there to have fun,his yoga classes and lifestyle is a shining example to others.A fluent gaeilgeoir to boot.

Very impressed with the three selectors.Three very nice individuals,it's certainly not all about them.Paul Galvin wears those flat caps very well.:)

The whole setup with David Kelly and co in AIT was fascinating.Copperfastened what one knows are the realities of preparation and necessities to make it at the highest level.

Any idea which county team is lined up for the Croker clash?

Played minor with Ciaran. He was also one of The founding members of Na Gaeil Oga GAA team in Dublin who are the first Irish speaking club in the county.

Graham Bedford from Erins Isle could be in goal. He played Dublin minor/u21. Think won a u21 AI medal in 2010

It's not Sean O'Shea, its Darragh. Kerry Junior Goalkeeper from Ballydonoghue.

Don't know much about him, but I don't think he plays much outfield at all.

Good goalkeeper though. Decent kickout and a big presence between the sticks.

Jaysis you didn’t think it was Sean o Shea, the kerry centre forward did you?

As another said it’s strange they don’t discuss the players impressing, just the ones struggling. You have no real understanding of who should stay and who should go.

I don’t know why they don’t release the entire panel so you can check who’s from your own county. Seems to be a lot of dubs.

Thought I saw it mentioned on the Kerry thread that a Sean O Shea was a goalkeeper but a superior outfield player?

No that is Shane Ryan. Rathmore goalkeeper. Plays outfield for the club. Kicked most of Rathmore's scores yesterday in a loss to South Kerry.
