Where are you getting the numbers from? I have Irelands cases at 5,709 and Denmark at 5,071. Today +345 for Ireland and +390 for the Danes. or do you mean those figures are from 3 or 4 days back?

Yeah I was quoting from a dead thread 4 days ago and commenting on it. That's where the figures were then.

    Bingo, it's a stunt.

They've been doing it to the Gardaí for years, cutting the resources, virtute signalling with announcements of crackdowns ,and expecting the Gardaí to do more with less.

Now they are putting the Gardaí in the frontline to impotently take the abuse of their well heeled 'entitled' supporters because they don't have the bottle to take unpopular decisions that could affect their base.

In past decades this would have been a resigning matter for Health Ministers but that's not type of confrontation is not Simon Harris, and he surely knows that he has no more Cabinet backing for this than he's had previously when he tried to effect change.

exactly. the water charge morons will be out in force for this one waving their camera phones in guards faces and asking them their numbers. and they don't even have holiday homes to go to.

Chatting to colleagues online today and two said they were gonna chance their arm and head out to Connemara from Galway at the weekend. An extended family member said the same, and added "sure we wouldn't be getting out of the car and anyway it's the middle of nowhere".

    Wrecks my head.

But the Gardaí shouldn't be put in that position when the Dáil gave them the backing the government won't implement.

Do they right you if negative?

Your friend will have spent 2 weeks in total isolation now so must be looking forward to tomorrow.

Communication has been poor. She actually still isn't sure how she will receive the result, if she does at all. At the test centre they said it would be through her GP. The GP's receptionist has since said ( on about the 5th call) it will be a text from the HSE. She was isolating for 8 days before she was tested so I think she's well clear now. Her main symptom was chest pain and breathlessness.

My biggest worry is my close work colleague (there are only 3 of us) has a family member in his 30's in ICU and ventilated for the last week. It seems to take so long to turn a corner if you reach that stage, even if you are young.

    It's quite unbelievable and scary.
